Did you know you have to reapply for financial aid every year?
It’s time to reapply for financial aid now if you will be attending Rocky Mountain College for the 2020-21 academic year.
It’s simple and the forms are available on RMC’s website. Go to Rocky.edu > Admissions & Aid > Financial Aid > Financial Aid Forms.
Step 1: Complete the RMC Grant & Scholar- ship Renewal Form every academic year to renew your RMC scholarships and grants (merit scholarships, athletic scholarships, Bear
Step 2: If you would like to be considered for federal student aid (Pell grant, student loans, work study), you must also complete the 2020-21 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
The 2020-21 FAFSA requires 2018 income and tax information. At this point, most people have already filed their 2018 taxes and can transfer their tax information directly into the FAFSA form right away using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool (IRS DRT). If you’re eligible, this is the fastest, most accurate way to input your tax return information into the FAFSA form.
Benefits of using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool are:
1. It’s the easiest way to provide your tax data.
2. It’s the best way of ensuring that your FAFSA has accurate tax information.
3. You won’t need to provide a copy of your and/ or your parents’ tax returns to the financial aid office if you are selected by the Department of Education for verification.
We are available in our office, located in the lower level of Prescott Hall, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., if you’d like help completing the RMC Grant & Scholarship Renewal form or the FAFSA.
Bring you and your parents 2018 federal tax returns if you need FAFSA help.
The Financial Aid Office will ensure you receive your award letter through CampusPortal prior to the end of spring semester if the above is completed by March 1.
